Chicago Mayor Richard Daley is warning community leaders not to ban video poker machines. State lawmakers approved the gambling machines in bars and restaurants to raise revenue for statewide construction projects.

Republican governor candidate Bob Schillerstrom today said he supports a ban on legalized video gambling machines in unincorporated bars and restaurants in DuPage County and urged other counties and towns to do the same.
