Mahoning valley Democrats and Republicans say they are united in their opposition to the latest casino gambling proposal for Ohio. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with political, religious and labor leaders the two parties say the casino amendment is a dead loser for the state and the valley.

Gamblers tried their luck Friday at Pennsylvania's newest casino, a $743 million slots parlor built on the site of a historic mill where tens of thousands of workers once made steel for warships and beams for countless skyscrapers and bridges.
